Old Town lots, established Centaur Village backyards, larger parcels in Waneka, the newer subdivisions east of Public Road. We design sheds, pergolas, and garden structures that fit the lot and the look. Site prep and landscaping included if you want them.
Garden sheds, modern sheds, chicken coops, pergolas, playhouses, and custom structures. All designed for Colorado weather. All built by our crew.
Panorama Sheds is based in Longmont and works across the northern Front Range. Lafayette is 13 miles south of us, about a 20-minute drive, and we are out there most weeks. Lafayette is one of our favorite cities to build in because the housing stock varies so much and every project ends up looking different.
We build for Lafayette properties of every kind. Smaller lots in Old Town where the structure has to fit alongside a 1900s house without crowding it. The larger backyards in Centaur Village and around Waneka Lake where we can design something with real presence and a TimberTech deck that gets used. The newer subdivisions east of Public Road, where HOA architectural review is part of every project and we know what flies through versus what gets sent back.
We know how to read a Lafayette setback diagram. We know what the city's Building Division expects in submission documents, what triggers Old Town's additional architectural and zoning review, and which structures need engineering stamps. If you are in Lafayette and you have a backyard project in mind, we have probably built something close to it within a few blocks.
Lafayette requires a building permit for any one-story storage shed over 120 square feet. Structures under that threshold are exempt unless they include electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing, in which case a permit is required regardless of size. Old Town Lafayette has additional architectural and zoning review for accessory structures: the Old Town Overlay rules apply on top of the standard permit. The homeowner submits the permit application by email to buildingpermits@lafayetteco.gov. We provide the construction documents and tell you what to file. Verify the current rules with the Lafayette Building Division at 303-665-5588.
Lafayette projects cover our full range. Our smallest builds, like a dog house or firewood shelter, run $450 to $950. Chicken coops are $2,450 to $3,250 with delivery included in Boulder County. Our signature garden sheds with TimberTech decks and pergolas are $16,500 to $18,500 fully built. Custom Lafayette projects with site work, foundations, or landscaping vary based on the property. Old Town projects can run higher because the architectural review usually means more drawing detail. We give you a firm number after we walk the lot.
Lafayette projects typically take 2 to 4 weeks once we start. City permit review runs about 3 to 4 weeks for structures over 120 square feet, with another 1 to 2 weeks for Old Town Overlay review when it applies. HOA architectural review in the newer east-side subdivisions can add 1 to 2 weeks. We sequence everything so the build kicks off the moment the last approval comes through.
Lafayette yards range from Old Town lots that need careful access planning to the wide-open newer subdivisions where we can pour a pad without fighting tree roots. We handle site clearing, grading, crushed granite or concrete pads, the build, and landscaping around the structure when the work is done. One crew, start to finish. If you already have a pad and just want the structure, we will build on what is there. Your call.
