The town is in active rebuild. New construction has been the dominant pattern in Sagamore, Rock Creek Ranch, and across Original Town since 2022. Owners rebuilding or moving into newer homes are thinking about what to put in the backyard, and a finished shed or coop is often part of that. We have built into this market from the start. We know the post-fire ignition-resistant construction requirements that apply in and near the burn zone, the Town's rebuild design standards, and which HOAs in town enforce stricter accessory rules than the Town code.

Do I need a permit for a shed?

Superior follows the International Residential Code, which exempts most one-story detached storage sheds under 200 square feet from a building permit when supported on grade and used without utilities. Setbacks and easements apply regardless of size. Superior was significantly impacted by the Marshall Fire, and properties in or near the burn zone may have additional ignition-resistant construction requirements and design standards tied to rebuild plans. Some HOAs in town also enforce stricter accessory structure rules than the Town code. The homeowner files the permit. We give you everything you need to do that. How much does a shed cost?

Superior projects cover our full range. Our smallest builds, like a dog house or firewood shelter, run $450 to $950. Chicken coops are $2,450 to $3,250 with delivery included in Boulder County. Our signature garden sheds with TimberTech decks and pergolas are $16,500 to $18,500 fully built and naturally fire-conscious by default. Custom Superior projects with site work, foundations, or landscaping on a rebuild lot vary based on what your property needs. We give you a firm number after we walk the lot.

How long does it take?

Superior projects typically take 2 to 4 weeks once we start. Town permit review for structures over 200 square feet runs about 2 to 3 weeks. Properties on rebuild plans may have additional review tied to the original rebuild submission. HOAs in the newer Superior subdivisions can add 1 to 2 weeks of architectural review. We sequence everything so the build starts when the last approval comes through.

Do you handle site prep and landscaping, or just the structure?

Superior rebuild lots often need full site work: grading, debris management around the existing build pad, a fresh crushed granite or concrete base for the structure. We handle all of it. One crew, start to finish, with the same fire-conscious material standards across the project. If you already have a pad and just want the structure, we will build on what is there. Your call.
